Modern Foreign Languages - French at King Alfred's Academy

Course description

AS students will explore the following General Topic Areas:

  • Youth culture and concerns (Music and fashion; technology; relationships; drink, drugs and sex.)
  • Lifestyle, health and fitness (Sport and exercise; food and diet; health issues.)
  • The world around us: travel, tourism, environmental issues and the TL speaking world (Tourist information, travel and transport; weather; pollution and recycling)
  • Education and employment (Education; education policy and student issues; the world of work)

    A2 students will explore the same General Topic Areas, plus the following:

  • Customs, traditions, beliefs and religions
  • National and international events: past, present and future
  • Literature and the arts

  • Entry requirements

    Typically students need at the very least 5 or more GCSE’s at grade C or above to be successful on an Advanced Course. There are more than 30 subjects to choose from though some may require more than a C grade.
