Music at Reepham High School and College

Course description

Music at AS/A2 GCE builds upon the skills that have been acquired through successful study at GCSE - i.e. performance, composition and musical understanding through the study of set works and theory. These are invaluable skills for all musicians to have and just as at GCSE, can involve the student’s own particular interests to feature in both performance and composition.

These two areas are both studied at AS and A2 level whilst the third part of the course involves traditional areas of basic harmony and analysis. Set works are studied, as at GCSE, from an anthology and recordings. The whole course should be very interesting and enjoyable to those who are interested in the serious study of music. There are also opportunities for students to take part in our varied ensembles here at Reepham High School & College
