Course description

What will I study? AS Year OneAt AS level the course consists of 2 units that cover the following:Unit One:Cognitive Psychology, Developmental Psychology and Research MethodsModels of memory and memory in every-day life including eyewitness testimonyExplanations of attachment and the impact of daycare on a childs’ social development. How research is carried outUnit Two:Biological Psychology, Social Psychology and Individual Differences.Stress as a bodily response and in every-day life. Stress management.Types of conformity, obedience and how people resist the pressures to conform.Defining abnormality and biological thera-pies including drugs and ECT. CBT. Unit Three:Practical & Investigative SkillsPractical work in the contexts of Units 1 & 2.Practical skills assessment. Investiga-tive skills assessment.

Entry requirements

General entry requirements are that students have at least a grade B in any subject they wish to study and for Psychology at least a B in english and maths.
