English Language B A-Level 5030 Spec: 2705 at Newbold Community School

Course description

Why should I study this course? The fact that our language is constantly changing and evolving makes it an interesting focus for study. This course encourages students to develop their interest in and enjoyment of English, through learning about the way that the English Language functions; the way they use language themselves and the ways in which language is used upon them. This course allows students to develop their ability to express themselves both in speech and writing with increased competence and sophistication; to encounter a varied range of reading and to develop their skills of critical and attentive listening.

The course comprises of 2 units studied at AS level and a further 2 units studied at A2 level. One unit from each level is a coursework piece - the other being assessed through examination.
