Psychology AS/A2 Level (Linear) at Anglo European School

Course description

If you have an enquiring mind, a good sense of humour and enjoy reading and debating then this is the subject for you. The study of psychology will enable you to gain fascinating insights into human and animal behaviour.

Paper 1 – Introductory topics to Psychology - Social influence, Memory, Attachment and Psychopathology.

Paper 2 – Psychology in context - Approaches in Psychology, Biopsychology and Research methods.

Paper 3 – Issues and Options in Psychology – Issues and debates in Psychology. As well

Relationships, Gender, Cognition and development, Schizophrenia, Eating behaviour, Stress, Aggression, Forensic psychology, Addiction

Paper 3 involves a choice of three optional topics selected by teaching staff.

Entry requirements

In addition to the Sixth Form matriculation requirements we require that students have at least a B in Science, B in English Language and C in Mathematics.

Paper 1 - Introductory topics to Psychology- written exam: 2 hours, 96 marks in total, 33.3% of A-level.

 

Paper 2 - Psychology in context - written exam: 2 hours, 96 marks in total, 33.3% of A-level.

 

Paper 3 - Issues and Options in Psychology -written exam: 2 hours, 96 marks in total, 33.3% of A-level.
