Film Studies *Fees Payable* at Cobham Hall *Fees Payable*
Film Studies offers students the opportunity to study aspects of British and European cinema, with depth and breadth studies over a wide range of genres and time periods. Students will study aspects of film from the perspective of production and development, gaining a real insight into the industry. Practical work allows students to develop their own final on screen product, or focus on another exciting aspect of film production such as writing a screenplay. With coursework such as the research portfolio, students choose their own topic, presenting the rare flexibility to hone in on the areas of study they most enjoy. Key qualities required in applicants are a genuine interest in the subject and a willingness to learn more about film production, development and the history of the industry.
Progression after Sixth Form: As well as providing a sound basis for media-based careers, such as directors, broadcasters, or producers, studying A Level film also provides the transferrable skills that universities and employers value, such as communication, project management, teamwork, and research skills. The creative and analytic abilities acquired can also be transferred to other business areas, from journalism and publishing through to marketing.
