Performing Arts A2 at Charles Darwin School

Course description

You will now put into practice all you've learned in Year 12 and begin to become a real performer. You will put on two shows and endeavour to gain work experience in your chosen field. You will research into the range of jobs available in the industry and write a report. You will choose one job to explore in detail and then attempt to work vocationally as you would in the working world. You might prepare an audition piece and try out for higher education, attend new classes to develop your skills, look for an agent and present a portfolio of evidence to sell yourself to a prospective employer. You will put on a show. You will take on a role and keep a working notebook showing the process and development you went through to develop your work and performance. You will be marked on your performance as well as your notebook. You will take an existing piece of work and cut, direct and produce it with your own interpretation, e.g. "Oliver!" set in modern times. This is a completely practical part of the qualification.
