Sport at The Sutton Academy

Course description

The BTEC National Award in Sport is a vocational course that is based around the workplace and sports industry. It is equivalent to one A Level, which will give the equivalent points for UCAS applications and university places. Year on year the sport and active leisure sector out performs the rest of the UK economy; this has been a trend since the end of the economic recession of the late 1990s, and researchers predict will continue to be the case for years to come, long after the sports legacy of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympics Games. These BTEC qualifications in Sport provide an introduction to the sector for learners looking to build a career in sport, within one of its many occupational areas. These areas include careers such as exercise and fitness, and coaching and leadership.

Entry requirements

5 GCSE’s at Grade C (or equivalent) or above.
