Early Years Education & Care Introduction Level 2 Certificate at Knowsley Community College
The aim of this qualification is to prepare learners to work with children between birth and five years, with knowledge of children up to seven years. You will be taught in our colourful child care rooms and outdoor area using fun and creative activities that will inspire you to develop your own exciting activities as a child care practitioner. To develop your practical skills, you will be placed in a good or outstanding local setting by our placement co-ordinator.
- Theme 1- Introducing the role of the early years practitioner There will be 3 units taught within this theme
- Theme 2 – Legislation, framework and professional practice There will be 3 units taught within this theme
- Theme 3 – Play, development and learning for school There will be 7 units taught within this theme
- Theme 4 – Professional development There is one unit to be taught within this theme
You should be at least 16 years old and have at least four GCSE's at grade D or above. One of these GCSE's must be in English.
You will need pens, pencils, paper, and a file to keep your work in.
This qualification allows progression on to the CACHE Level 3 Early Years Educator qualifications and other Level 3 qualifications relating to child care. Alternatively, upon achievement of this qualification, learners can progress into various job roles in the statutory, voluntary or private sectors, such as: • Nursery assistant • Classroom assistant • Pre-school assistant
