Course description

Do you have a passion for how electrical systems work? Are you interested in learning more about building and maintaining electrical installations in machines and structures? If so, this Level 2 Diploma in Electrical Installations is the ideal course to begin your journey.

Throughout this year long course, you will cover a wide range of areas of electrotechnical technology, as you develop the basic skills and experience you will need to progress onto an apprenticeship programme in this sector. This includes a focus on the principles of electrical science, to lay the foundations for your practical skills, as well as the opportunity to get hands-on and explore electrical installations technology. You'll also examine health and safety within building services engineering

  • City & Guilds Electrotechnology Diploma Level 2

You will learn:

  • Health and Safety
  • Electrical science
  • Practical knowledge
  • Practical wiring installation

You could then go on to learn:

  • The application of health and safety and electrical principles
  • Installation (Buildings and structures)
  • Inspection, fault diagnosis, commissioning and rectification

You will also learn employability skills

 

Entry requirements

 Advanced Level - Progression after Intermediate course

Intermediate Level - 4Ds/3s at GCSE

Foundation Level - E/Fs or 1/2s at GCSE

Assessment

You will complete a combination of assignments and practical assessments and examinations

Financial information

All full-time courses are free to 16-18 year olds who are an EU citizen.

Future opportunities

On completion of your course you can go directly into employment or progress on to further training such as an apprenticeship, HNC, NVQs or qualifications in supervision and management.
