Administration (Business Professional) OCR Diploma Level 2 at Epping Forest College
This course is designed to prepare you working in an office work. A good admin assistant provides a vital support function in any busy office. You’ll need to master the art of working under your own initiative to tight deadlines, as well as responding to the demanding needs of more senior colleagues.
Students on this course will study the following:
- working in administration
- written business communication
- career planning in administration
- communicate with customers
- teamwork in administration
- organise meetings
- handling diary systems
- text production
- business presentations
- word processing
As part of your study programme you undertake Masterclasses in English and Maths. If you haven’t already got a grade C in English and Maths, you will work towards this grade alongside your course.
All students will have the opportunity to undertake one week’s work experience in a local business.
4 GCSEs at grade D-E or above including English Language and Maths at grade D
Mix of exams, assignments and in-class assessments. There will also be internal assessment days with corporate businesses.
The course workbook is included in your course fees but you will need to purchase your own stationery, e.g. course folders, pens, pencils,notebook, ruler, calculator, USB and English dictionary and legal dictionary.

It is very important to find out about all of your options after you have completed your course. Some careers will require specific qualifications and training for you to work in the sector, whereas other jobs and careers do not have a set training route.
You may decide to continue to the next level of your current subject at this college. The College offers both A Levels and a wide range of subjects at Level 3. You must have the correct qualifications to progress on to Level 3 courses - this is usually an A*-C at GCSE, or a Merit/Distinction in the Level 2 vocational course.
You may also choose to apply for an Advanced Apprenticeship (Level 3). Information about apprenticeships can be found at the National Apprenticeship website - you can search and apply for apprenticeships there. You then complete ONE application form, which you can use to apply for any Apprenticeship. The entry requirements vary a lot, depending on the employer, the college and the Apprenticeship.
