PERFORMING ARTS DRAMA (Level 2 and Level 3) at Big Creative Education

Course description

This course is designed for young people with a passion for acting and stage production. In a competitive industry where the UK has many award winning actors this course will provide you with the skills and knowledge to compete with the best. Aimed at young people interested in styles of performance, this course will teach you music, singing, acting and performance skills, rehearsal techniques and give you an understanding of what it takes to put on a show.

Our stage, screen and behind the scenes experienced tutors will guide you towards an end of year performance, where you will showcase your performing, directing and writing skills in the BCA performing arts space. At the end of your course you will play an integral part in the end of year production in an external theatre, with up to 300 watching. At the end of the course, you will leave BCA with a professional, digital show reel of your coursework. Your tutors will help you craft this essential tool to help you move to the next stage of your creative career or learning.

Course content

This course is designed for young people with a passion for acting and stage production. You will be taught by stage and screen professionals who will teach you a range of skills to develop you as a performer including audition skills, understanding how to perform to an audience and stage productions. In a competitive industry where the UK has many award winning actors this course will provide you with the skills and knowledge to compete with the best.

During the course you will be taught be stage and screen professionals who will teach you a number of skills to develop you as a performer, these include, audition skills, understanding how to perform to an audience for both film, TV and stage productions. You will work on singing and voice techniques and understand how to rehearse and produce final productions.

Underpinning this you will learn about the performing arts industry and the historical context of performance to ensure you able to compete on the world stage. We will work with you to develop your preferred acting style whether it be comedy, drama or contemporary performance and encourage you to write scripts and develop your behind the stage skills producing your own shows.

Entry requirements

Applicants must be between the ages of 16-18 on the 1st September 2015 – Prospective students will be offered places on a conditional basis until they receive their GCSE results.


No prior qualifications required
A commitment and passion for music, media, events or fashion


Applicants for L2 courses must have at least 5 GCSEs at D or below (or equivalent) including English


Applicants for L3 courses must have at least 5 GCSEs at C or above (or equivalent) including English C and Maths D

*Places will be awarded to learners who meet our course entrance criteria, are willing to learn and show the most potential.
