Course description

Sociology gives an insight into the workings of the social system and develops your skills of analysis and evaluation. It provides a good background for study at a higher level in the Social Siences. If you are considering careers in Education, Social or Public Service and Medicine you will find Sociology is included in your training. You must be prepared to work hard, practice and develop your essay wrting skills on a regular basis throughout the course. Sociology involves higher level of thinking skills: you must be prepared to develop your ability to think things out for yourself using sociology theories and concepts.
