Course description

Year 1

Opportunities for and the effects of leading a healthy and active lifestyle: Exercise physiology, skill acquisition, and opportunities for participation which are examined though the theory paper. 
Analysis and evaluation of physical activity as a performer and/or in an adopted role(s): Practically perform, analyse and evaluate the execution of core skills/techniques.

Year 2

Optimising performance and evaluating contemporary issues within sport: How exercise physiology can optimise performance; how application of psychological knowledge can optimise performance. 
Optimising practical performance in a competitive situation:Students perform, analyse and evaluate their own performance.


Entry requirements

B Grade in GCSE PE and Science. Competing, umpiring or coaching regularly outside of school.
