Vehicle Technology (Motor Sports) Level 3 Extended Diploma at East Surrey College
The course aims to provide the technical knowledge and skills required by today’s retail motor industry alongside the study of motorsports. It covers systems found on a modern vehicle and the associated background studies. This qualification involves both theory and practical learning at a challenging level. At least one track day is involved with this course and we would encourage students to volunteer with local race teams for further experience.
Students must have a minimum of 5 GCSEs at Grade C or above in the core subjects (to include Maths, English & Science) and attend a satisfactory interview.
The coursework is assessed by assignments, presentations and observations. This course focuses heavily on theory and this is reflected both in the workshop and in assignments. The course encourages students’ initiative and self-assessment.
This course provides a progression route for entry to university (Foundation Degree or Higher National Diploma) or into employment in the motor industry. Due to the nature of the written assignments it gives a good basis for learners to progress into business management/development positions.
