Business Administration Advanced Apprenticeship at West Herts College

Course description

Ideal for people working in an administrative or customer service role wanting to develop their higher level knowledge to enhance their career prospects. You should be taking on more responsibilities, managing projects, implementing changes or developing others.

Course content

This course provides you with the essential knowledge and understanding needed in administrative and supervisory roles. You will practice your communication and people skills as well as developing key attributes such as accuracy, attention to detail and organisational skills.

You’ll be learning at work with your employer, attending College to complete your theoretical knowledge and pass assessments. Areas of study can include:

  • Contributing to decision-making

  • Supervising a team in a business environment

  • Contributing to running a project

  • Planning and organising meetings

  • Analysing and reporting data

  • Communicating effectively with customers

  • Delivering seamless customer service with a team and resolving customer service problems

Alongside your course you will develop your English and maths skills and learn about employment rights and responsibilities.

Entry requirements

Employment at a suitable level - most employers ask for GCSEs in English and maths, but may have additional specific requirements. 

Future opportunities

Successful apprentices can progress to a Foundation degree or to university to study business or a related course. Or continue at work in jobs such as administration officer, admin team leader, office supervisor, personal assistant or legal or medical secretary.
