The NCFE Level 1 Diploma for Entry to the Uniformed Services Course could be the course for you?

Aims and objectives of this qualification:

This qualification aims to provide you with an understanding of the uniformed public services sector with the opportunity to investigate career opportunities in the uniformed services. There is an opportunity to investigate volunteering roles and the transferable workplace skills volunteering can provide.

You will learn the skills required to prepare for a recruitment interview understanding then developing the skills and qualities needed to work in a range of uniformed public service job roles.

You will be able to develop your personal commitment and improve on a weekly basis your fitness requirements that are needed to be employed in a uniformed service role. 

This course also gives you the valuable opportunity to work on your English and maths skills if you have not achieved GCSE Grade C or above – focusing upon improving your GCSE grades plus developing study skills which are essential employability skills that both employers and the government require of you.

Course content

  • Unit 01 Investigate employment opportunities in the uniformed services
  • Unit 02 Well-being and physical fitness for the uniformed services
  • Unit 03 Team working skills in the uniformed services
  • Unit 04 Developing self-discipline for the uniformed services
  • Unit 05 Health and safety in the uniformed services

Plus 2 units which make up 8 credits:

  • Unit 08 Participate in an adventurous activity
  • Unit 09 Explore volunteering and volunteering opportunities

Entry requirements

4 GCSE’s at Grade E, including English and maths to undertake this course; or equivalent grades from other qualifications

Future opportunities

After completion of the NCFE Level 1 Diploma for Entry to the Uniformed Services programme you will have a nationally recognised qualification and can progress onto the BTEC Level 2 Diploma Public Services for your chosen career path.
