Applied Business A Level at The Buckingham School - A Sports College

Course description

This exciting and practical course will enable students to develop an understanding of how business works in the real world. They will discover the problems and opportunities faced by local, national and international businesses and they will take part in practical activities such as planning and running a business, organising an event or planning and setting up a website. Students will also have the opportunity to organise an enterprise activity and learn how business functions such as marketing, finance, human and physical resources work together.

Course content

Business Studies is an extremely interesting and exciting subject to study. It has links with every profession and helps in developing a student’s personal learning and communication skills. Employers seek candidates with a good understanding of how their organisation works both internally and as a global enterprise whether that be in the Public or the Private Sector.

Entry requirements

To take this course students must have achieved a B grade or above in their GCSE Maths and English.

Future opportunities

The GCE in Applied Business qualifies for UCAS points so could lead to a degree, BTEC Diploma or an apprenticeship in related subjects such as Administration or Management. It combines well with Business, Law, Psychology, Maths and PE.
