NCFE Level 1 or 2 Diploma in Uniformed Services at Learning Curve Group - Skill Centre's

Course description

This study programme is ideal for individuals looking at a career within the Armed Forces or uniformed services like the Police or Fire Service. Even if you have very little interest in the uniformed or armed services, this course is beneficial as your confidence, communication skills and employability skills will be greatly improved.

During your time on the course you will be tutored by former members of the armed forces, who have a wide and varied knowledge of skills and experience to pass on.

There are varied subjects you will be taught on your course, such as map reading, first aid, weapons training and physical fitness, to name a few.

You will also have to opportunity to be involved in other activites. These include doing a parachute jump for charity, adventurous training in Wales, visiting and also being involved in training with the Police and Fire Services.

Course content

This course is tailored to ensure learners have a suitable mix of theory and practical learning. Also a lot of time is spent on high quality employability, enrichment and pastoral hours.

While on the course we will give you a basis of knowledge to build on to ensure you have the best possible start in your choosen career.

Health and Fitness training

Confidence and Team building exercises

Career/employability skills

First aid

Navigation and map reading

Fieldcraft and basic tactics

Outdoor adventures

Weapons training

 

Entry requirements

There are no formal requirements as such, however a genuine vested interest in a career with the Armed Forces or Uniformed Services is advantagous. Although the knowledge and skills we teach transfer well to other career paths.

Assessment

Completion of qualification portfolio/workbook is required.

For those who have not aquired GCSE grades A* - C in English and maths, you will be required to work towards these grades whilst on course with us.
