Philosophy at Wimbledon College

Course description

Three modules are studied at AS- Theory of Knowledge, Moral Philosophy and a key philosophical text. At A2, an extended essay on a key philosopher or philosophical theme is submitted, plus two examined modules, one on a key text and one on Political Philosophy.

Entry requirements

To follow the advanced Level 3 route you must have 5 or more GCSEs at Grade C or above. You just have Grade B in the AS level subject options you wish to study or Grade C in applied subject options.

Future opportunities

You could take this course to complement other advanced level courses or to prepare the A2 part of an Advanced GCE in Philosophy, which could lead onto higher education in Philosophy, the Social Sciences, Religious Studies or more general higher education courses. With further training, you could go into a job related to Philosophy, People or Religion by working in Human Relations, Research or Teaching. You could also go straight into a job as the AS GCE is a recognised qualification that will help you develop the skills, understanding and knowledge that many employers across lots of industries are looking for
