Beauty Therapy Level 2 NVQ Diploma at West Herts College

Course description

Beauty therapy is all about treating people and making them feel special in a relaxed and tranquil environment. The College’s professional salons and spa are the perfect backdrop for you to practise your skills.

Course content

You’ll be learning from tutors with a wealth of experience – using professional products on paying customers visiting our salons. You will study a range of subjects including:

  • Anatomy and physiology

  • Facial treatments

  • Manicure and pedicure

  • Hot and warm waxing

  • Make-up

  • Lash and brow treatments

You’ll also study English and maths and take part in GAP work placements to build your wider skills and confidence.

Entry requirements

3 GCSEs (A*–D) preferably in English, maths and science, or successful completion of a Level 1 Beauty Therapy programme. You will also be required to attend a course introduction meeting.

Future opportunities

You’ll have the skills to work in a salon (at Level 2) or as a consultant on a cosmetic counter. Progress your studies with the NVQ Level 3 in Beauty Therapy or Nail Technology.
