Course description

Physics is for you if: You want (or may want) a career that requires good scientific knowledge, good problem solving skills and logical thinking. Physics A Level helps to open the door to a huge range of careers in computing, engineering, industry, finance, medicine and in many other areas You enjoyed mathematics and science at GCSE and you want to study a science at A Level The AQA Physics A syllabus is a traditional program of study and will provide any learner with a solid background in the science. Experimental work is carried out as a part of the course and this helps to prepare students for the coursework component. The Physics section is affiliated with the Institute of Physics and is a member of the ‘Faulke’s Telescope Project’. This enables us to control telescopes in Australia and Hawaii via the internet to look at objects of interest in the night sky, during our daylight hours, if studying the Astrophysics part of the course. Physics is a shortage subject in this country. People with Physics degrees are in great demand in all aspects of the world of work.

5 GCSEs grade A*-C in five different GCSE subjects
