Applied General in Business Level 3 Extended Certificate at The Grange School
The Applied General in Business is a new course designed as a vocational complement to A Levels or Techlevels. The course is ideal for learners keen to broaden their knowledge of Business. The qualification: - Provides a broad understanding of business knowledge and skills to support progress to higher education Prepares learners to work in Business and entrepreneurship after achieving the qualification Is strongly entrepreneurial in content Uses examinations, externally assessed assignments and centre set assignments to ensure the practical experience is maximised.
The first year focuses on four themes: people, markets, finance and operational delivery. The qualification is split into units to address these themes so that content is coherent and joined up. In the second year learners gain a broad understanding of business topics and consider how to plan and deliver a product or service. It is possible to achieve a Level 3 Certificate in Applied Business if you choose to end your study at the end of the first year.
You will need to have gained a minimum of five GCSEs grade Cs or above. Consideration will be given to students who have not studied Business Studies before, although if it has been studied, a C grade GCSE or a Merit at Level 2 award in Business is required. If Business has not been studied before, acceptance on to the course is at the discretion of the Subject Leader.
The Level 3 Certificate in Applied Business consists of three mandatory units (one exam, one externally assessed assignment and one internally assessed assignment). The Level 3 Extended Certificate consists of six units – the Certificate units plus two mandatory units and one optional unit (one exam and two internally assessed assignments).
