Business BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma at City of Stoke-on-Trent Sixth Form College

Course description

The Business BTEC is a more practical work-related option and you will take considerable responsibility for investigating and completing projects based on realistic work situations. This is a very useful course for you if you wish to enter the business world or eventually run your own business. You will learn why organisations such as Tesco and Microsoft are so successful and how organisations respond to a variety of external pressures.

Entry requirements

Four GCSEs grade A-C, preferably including Maths and English. This is a guideline rather than a requirement and the college will create a programme most suitable for you as an individual.

Awarding Body: Edexcel

Assessment: Combination of exam, externally moderated assessment and internally moderated coursework.

Results 2016: 98%

This course is free to students aged 16-19 years old

Future opportunities

You can progress onto business related degrees at well respected universities and potential career paths include junior management in a wide range of industries as well as careers related to Sales and Marketing, Retail, Logistics and Operations Management. The course is equivalent to 3 A levels and is ideal if you prefer project work and like coursework.

    • The City of Stoke-on-Trent Sixth Form College, in the centre of the City and the North Staffordshire conurbation, is an ideal place to study.       LEARNING RESOURCE CENTRES

Located next to the teaching staff base, the LRC are the perfect place to complete your work. The ground floor LRC is open until late throughout the week ensuring you meet deadlines.

      QUIET STUDY AREA

      Do you need peace and quiet to complete your work? Then the quiet study area is ideal. With plenty of desks and access to computers there’s no better place to focus on your studies.

      LEARNING PODS

      The most unique feature in our building is the three learning pods. These are individual break-out spaces from the LRC, available for use by all students. Work alongside your peers or carry out research with access to new technology such as tablets, Macs and high speed wireless internet connection. Each Learning Pod has its own identity.
