Sociology AS A2 at Northampton School for Girls

Course description

Sociology looks beyond the 'common sense explanations' at what is really happening in Society. The subject focuses on competing and contentious ways of understanding social structures and processes. In the Sixth Form the subject has an excellent reputation for teaching skills vital to both Post-16 and university study.

Course content

What you will do ·        Increase your understanding of the society surrounding you.·        Study the family, education, sociological theory and research methods, religion, social and stratification.     Develop academic and tutorial skills.

Entry requirements

Five good GCSE requirements for Advanced Level study. The higher your grades in written subjects, such as English, the easier you will find the reading and written work.
