Hairdressing & Beauty Therapy Level 2 Diploma at West Herts College

Course description

This course combines the VTCT NVQ Level 2 in Beauty Therapy with the City & Guilds VRQ Level 1 in Hairdressing – providing the skills you need to follow a career in either industry.

Course content

With a combination of theory and practice, you will learn about:

  • Facials

  • Make-up

  • Eye treatments

  • Waxing

  • Manicure and pedicure

  • Shampoo and blowdry

Alongside your course you’ll study practical English and maths and take part in GAP work placements to develop your skills and confidence.

Entry requirements

3 GCSEs (A*–D) preferably in English, maths and science, or successful completion of a Level 1 Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy programme. You will also be required to attend a course introduction meeting.

Future opportunities

You could start work as a junior therapist in a salon, a consultant on a cosmetic counter, or a junior in a salon. The next step at College is the NVQ Level 3 Beauty Therapy or NVQ 2 Hairdressing.
