Course description

Year 12

U1 - Understanding Dance = The dancer as a performer, the process and craft of choreography, the significance of dances (own work and professional repertoire)
U2 - Choreography and performance - performance in a duo/trio, solo choreography and performance based on externally set question.

Year 13

U3 - Dance Appreciation = content and context = 1 area of study (theory) and 1 set professional work.
U4 - Group choreography and solo performance. Solo performance based on the style of a professional practitioner.
Group choreography based on externally set question.

Technical Ability In depth analysis of an historical period of dance Development of contextual understanding

Entry requirements

The general entrance requirement for the Sixth Form is 6 or more A*-C grades including either English or Maths and with any BTEC qualifications worth half. No specific requirements
