Course description

We offer an intensive course which provides you with essential preparation for entry to degree courses in Fashion and Textiles. You will experience a range of Fashion activities which will assess your strengths and confirm your aspirations and lead to a more specialised area of interest. You will undertake a programme of 18 units of practical study including: a structured programme of drawing and visual studies, fashion design and illustration, surface pattern, pattern construction, fashion marketing alongside specialist textile techniques. Entry requirements

A minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade A*-C including either: art, design or textiles or an equivalent level 2 award in a related subject. .

Future opportunities

Later you may want to study... Fashion Design, Surface Textiles, Fashion Illustration, Fashion Jewellery, Menswear, Womens/Menswear, Fashion Photography, Fashion Marketing and Fashion Futures or another related subject at Higher Education You could take this course with other advanced level courses such as Art and Design or Computing to prepare for higher education in areas of and design, technology, architecture or more general higher education courses. With further training, you could go into a job related to design and technology such as an Architect, Carpenter or Computer Technician. The course will also encourage you to explore your creative mind and help you develop the basic skills, understanding and knowledge that many employers across lots of industries are looking for.
