Applied Law - BTEC Level 3 Certificate/BTEC Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma at North Shropshire College - NSC

Course description

The specification is designed to appeal to both full time learners interested in a career in law, and to those who already have experience of working in the sector.  The mandatory/core units of the certificate qualification (units 1,2 and 3) give learners an introduction to the court structure - both civil and criminal, the ways in which law is made and elements of substantive civil and criminal law in the form of negligence and non-fatal offences of the person.

The core will provide a foundation for study of the three optional units.  These units look more in-depth at specific criminal offences, including murder and manslaughter, and also the powers of the police.  It is useful for careers in law, criminology, the police service and the public sector, and a wide variety of other degree courses.
