Course description

AS Units

Unit G541 - Psychological Investigations. There are four research methods covered. These are: Correlations, observations, experiments and self-report methods. This unit is worth 30% of the AS grade and 15% of the full A Level. The exam is 1 hour.

Unit G542 - Core studies. There are 15 pieces of research. This unit is worth 70% of the AS grade and 35% of the full A Level. The exam is 2 hours.

A2 Units

Unit G543 - Forensic Psychology, 3 topics are covered. Health and Clinical Psychology, 3 topics are covered. This unit is worth 50% of the A2 grade and 25% of the full A Level. The exam is 2 hours.

Unit G544 - Research Methods and Approaches in Psychology. This unit consists of two parts. A: Research methods and the design of a practical project. B: Questions on approaches, perspectives, methods, issues and debates. This unit is worth 50% of the A2 grade and 25% of the full A Level. The exam is 1 hour 30 minutes.

Entry requirements

The minimum entry requirements for Level 3 programmes including grade C in Maths and B in English.
