History at The Academy of St Francis of Assisi

Course description

History is not just a study of the past. Historical events are what have shaped society worldwide into what it is today. The A-Level History course has been designed to help you understand the value and significance of world events in the past. In the process you’ll gain a deeper understanding of social, cultural, religious and ethnic diversity. In the first term you will study Totalitarian Ideologies and the regimes of Stalin, Mussolini and Hitler. Unit two is a study of the Vietnam War and in Year 13 you will study the reign of Elizabeth I as well as researching and writing an independent study.

Entry requirements

Grade B or above in GCSE English or History.
