Mathematics at Outwood Academy Valley

Course description

Building on the work you will have met at GCSE, post 16 mathematics involves new ideas that some of the greatest minds have produced. You must enjoy using your mathematics skills and knowledge to solve problems, and be prepared to work as a class, in groups and on your own.

A-level Mathematics provides students with a thorough grounding in the mathematics tools and techniques often needed in the workplace. The logic and reasoning skills developed by studying A level mathematics make sure the qualification is widely respected even in non-mathematical arenas.

Entry requirements

5A*-C GCSEs across a range of subjects. A minimum of a GCSE grade B in Mathematics achieved by following a GCSE Higher Level course for 2 years is required.
