Physics A Level at La Retraite Roman Catholic Girls' School
On this course you will cover a range of subjects including: Measurements and their errors; Particles and radiation; Waves; Mechanics and materials; Electricity; Further mechanics and thermal physics; Fields and their consequences; Nuclear physics. There is also the potential to study Engineering Physics.
To gain entry onto the A Level Pathway students would need 5 or more B grades in their GCSE qualifications including a C grade in Maths and English Language. A Level students should chose 3 subjects and the ASDAN COPE Award.
Students complete 2 exams at the end of both year 12 and at the end of year 13. Coursework is no longer required, however key practical assessments are carried out and do contribute to the overall awarding of your grade
