Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Performing Engineering Operations (PEO) at Telford College Of Arts And Technology - TCAT

Course description

This hands-on course develops your practical skills in a range of
disciplines, which may include Milling, Turning, Welding and Sheet
Metal Work. These skills are highly sought after by local employers
and prepares you well for a great career. In addition to the practical
work, you may study for a Technical Certificate, a vital requirement
of the industry. You will perform much of your work in our fully
equipped industrial grade machine workshop, which is probably the
best in the region. All full-time students who have not achieved a
GCSE grade C or above in English Language and maths will continue
to study a qualification in English and maths with an ultimate goal
of achieving a grade C or above at GCSE. To support progression
towards GCSE we have qualifications in English and maths including
Functional Skills.
 
Full Time Study Programmes are built around a collection
of key elements which all students benefit from, these include:
 
• Main Qualification in the subject of your choice
• English & mathematics qualifications for all students who have not
yet achieved A*- C grade in either subject
• Work Experience or External Work Placement which is planned
with you at the start of your course and links to your career goals
and ambitions
• Weekly Tutorial with your personal tutor
• A wide range of Enrichment Activities to support your broader
skills, such as team work or communication

Through competence based practical tasks and assignments

Future opportunities

Successful completion of this course can lead to study on the
Advanced Engineering C&G 2850.

Further information

You will need boots, overalls, notebook/pad, writing/drawing
implements, folder and scientific calculator. This is a one year
course.
