GCE A2 Level Sociology at Queen Elizabeth School

Course description

The A2 builds on the AS course and takes sociological theory to a higher level encouraging the students to make synoptic links between different areas of sociology. The A2 course is divided into 3 units: 1. Religion - this unit studies traditional and new religious movements and explores issues around gender and ethnicity. 2. Theory and Methods - this unit builds on the knowledge gained at AS level taking a deeper look at theoretical and methodological issues whilst also covering significant areas of new ground. 3. Crime and Deviance - this unit examines the nature of crime and deviant acts.

Entry requirements

GCSE passes in 5 subjects with grades A-C, plus an interview and reference.
