Boat Building and Maintenance Advanced Apprenticeship Level 3 at City College Plymouth
Do you want a hands-on career in a construction industry with a difference? Maybe you'd rather be building boats than building houses? Whether your ambitions lie in building ships or outfitting the latest super yachts, an Apprenticeship in Boat Building and Maintenance could be your first step on the road to success! There are many different job roles available in the building of boats, working on everything from cargo ships to super yachts. It's a career that could take you around the world! As an Apprentice, you'll be earning as you learn, working alongside experienced staff in the boat building field to develop a range of skills and knowledge. Advanced Apprenticeships are for learners employed as an apprentice by a local company. Funding is guaranteed by the Government for training, with priority being given to learners starting aged 16 to 18 years. We can assist in matching learners to employers.
The course will include:
NVQ Level 3 in Boat Building and Maintenance
Functional Skills for maths, English and ICT Level 2, Working with Others Level 2 and Improving Own Learning Level 2.
Functional skills - maths, English and ICT level 2 are studied, along with employment rights and responsibilities, and (PLTS) Personal Learning and Thinking Skills.
Technical Certificate: 2463 Certificate in Boat Production Level 3, 2463 Certificate in Boat Construction Level 2
Acceptance on this course is via an initial assessment at the College's Work-based Learning department.
Assessment is continuous, both on and off the job.
Successful completion will greatly enhance your job opportunities and future employment prospects.
