Painting and Decorating Level 1 Diploma at New College Durham

Course description

The course will prepare you for work in the construction industry and will provide a basic introduction into the decorating trade. skills. 

Course content

You will study units involving: •  

  • Handle and store materials •  
  • Use working platforms •  
  • Protect working areas •  
  • Prepare surfaces for decorating •  
  • Apply decorating materials

You will be continually assessed in practical skills and theory.

Entry requirements

No formal entry qualifications are needed. Formal entry qualifications are not required. All Level 1 courses in Construction are pending a successful interview and BKSB result.

Future opportunities

You can progress onto intermediate construction awards or NVQ Level 2 in Painting and Decorating apprentice on placement.
