General Foundation Study Programme at Northampton College

Course description

This is an exciting new programme offered in partnership with local employers with real work opportunities. Studies will take place both in the workplace and at College. Traineeships & apprenticeships are available in some areas.Everyone does Mathematics and English at a level that is right for them - from Entry Level 2 Functional Skills up to GCSE. You will also cover a range of employability skills to help you prepare for the work place.

Course content

Our General pathway is perfect for you if you're not sure where to start. It is for students who have no GCSE results, or do not have 4 E Grades, or who have not attended some of their school education and need to achieve an Entry Level or Level 1 qualification in order to progress onto their chosen vocational area or into employment or apprenticeships.When can you start? Entry requirements

To start a Vocational Studies Programme you do not need any qualifications. Just the attitude to attend and take part!

Assessment

There are varying methods of assessment within the programme, e.g. observations, role play, professional discussions, written tasks and presentations, workbooks, written assessments and computer based activities.

Further information

If you are aged 19 or over on 1st September the examination fee payable at enrolment will be approxiamately £40.
