Entry requirements

Entry into our 6th Form is based upon gaining a minimum of 5 A* - C at GCSE including at least a grade C in English and/or maths. BTEC courses will be taken into account in support of the 5 A*-C at GCSE. The minimum average points score for all subjects for entry into the 6th Form is 39.

Assessment

AS Biology consists of three mandatory units that must all be completed by all students if they are to achieve the AS qualification.

BIOL 1: Biology and Disease 1hr15mins (33.3%)
BIOL 2: The Variety of Living Organisms 1hr45mins (46.7%)
BIOL 3: Investigative and Practical Skills in AS Biology – ISA (20%)

A2 Biology consists of three mandatory units that must all be completed by all students if they are to achieve the A2 qualification.

BIOL 5:  Control in cells and in organisms (46.7%)
BIOL 6:  Investigative and Practical Skills in AS Biology – ISA (20%)
