Physical Education A Level at Lincoln Castle Academy

Course description

This ‘AS’/‘A2’ course seeks to develop the students’ knowledge, understanding, skills and application for Physical Education and Sport. You may wish to take your knowledge further to higher education as well as having a genuine love of sport at 'County' level or equivalent. The skills developed by studying this course are: communication; improving own learning and performance; problem solving; working with others. Biology, History, Psychology, Public Services, English and Business tend to compliment this course.

Entry requirements

Essential grades are ‘B’ at Sports Studies GCSE or ‘Merit’ at BTEC Sport and ‘B’ or above in English. Students MUST be good sports men/women. It is essential that students are skilled at 'County' level or equivalent.

Future opportunities

In particular Higher Education courses such as: Sport Science; Leisure Management; Education such as aPE teacher.
