Course description

The Level 3 Extended Diploma in Health & Social Care provides a highly specialist work-related qualification in a range of vocational sectors.

The programme equips you with the knowledge, understanding and skills to prepare for employment, and also provides career development opportunities for anyone already in work.

The qualification is equivalent to three A levels, and many students progress to higher education.

Course content

The Level 3 Extended Diploma in Health & Social Care provides a highly specialist work-related qualification in a range of vocational sectors.

Entry requirements

  • You will need 4 GCSEs at grade A*-C including English and Maths, or a full Level 2 qualification with literacy and numeracy at the appropriate level.
  • Evidence of previous relevant work experience would be useful.
  • As with all programmes that involve working in health/childcare settings, a satisfactory Criminal Records Bureau check (CRB) will be requested.
  • Acceptance on to this programme is subject to interview.

Assessment

You will need to complete an assignment for each unit.

These will be assessed and graded.

Some of your units will be internally assessed and others externally.

You will regularly review your work with your tutor and receive feedback on your progress.

Future opportunities

On completion of this programme you could progress to university to study for a degree or move on to employment in a Health & Social Care environment.
