Spanish at The Beaconsfield School
The course is designed to give students a profound understanding of their chosen language. Not only will they learn more about the mechanics of the language - like grammar and vocabulary - but also about how people live and use the language on a day to-day-basis.
The ability to speak a language other than your mother tongue has become a hugely important factor in today’s workplace. Students that can speak at least two languages not only earn more money on average but have a great-er cultural understanding of the world in which we live. By studying a language at A-level, students will have access to greater opportunities and be able to work and travel across the world. They will also find their enhanced com-munication skills a beneficial asset when moving on to university and beyond.
Students wishing to study A-Level Spanish at the Beaconsfield School must have obtained 7 GCSE’s at grade A*- C and a grade B or above in Spanish. This includes the new iGCSE for Spanish. The course is very demanding and requires students to use their independent learning skills to further their knowledge outside of the classroom as well as inside.
