Hairdressing (VRQ) Level 2 Diploma at South Cheshire College
This course is ideal for anyone leaving school who wishes to pursue a career in hairdressing. There are a number of topics covered from Health and Safety to working in the hair industry. The course is designed to cover a range of basic hairdressing techniques to support the learner to the next level of hairdressing which is the NVQ Level 2 Diploma. These units are delivered in your lessons and will give you the skills to enable you to complete your practical assessments as you would in a hairdressing salon. In addition, you will work in our fantastic commercial Elements Salon for 6 hours per week, where you will gain industry experience enabling you to participate in work experience in a local salon or community events.
This course is ideal for anyone leaving school who wishes to pursue a career in hairdressing. There are a number of topics covered from Health and Safety to Working in the Hair Industry. You will train in the College\'s own Element Salons in a realistic working environment where you will learn how to cut and colour hair and also dress hair.

This course is suitable for those leaving school who wish to pursue a career in hairdressing but have achieved Grade D in Maths or English or Level 1 Functional Skills or have a Level 1 Hairdressing qualification. You will work towards whichever GCSE you have not achieved at Grade D. You should have the motivation and interest to take you through your 1st year of hairdressing and any work experience will be an advantage as this will increase your communication skills for this course.
