Hair and Beauty NVQ Level 2 Diploma at Saint Benedict, A Catholic Voluntary Academy

Course description

This course is suitable for beginners to hairdressing and for those interested in becoming a Junior Hairstylist. It will give you the opportunity of becoming a qualified stylist and enable you to provide basic hairdressing services. There are plenty of options to suit individual needs and aspirations, this qualification will give you the ability and skills to work on Male and Female clients.

Course content

A compulsory element of the course is for the learner to find a work placement in a salon to gather work experience once a week, and to work additional hours; late evenings on a Wednesday or Thursday and Saturdays in Captivation Salon.

Entry requirements

All Level 2 students must have 4 grade D passes or equivalent and basic numeracy and literacy skills. 

An interest in the subject to be studied and the willingness to undertake independent study is essential.

In addition, the following subject has specific entry criteria.

Students must be willing to find a work placement and to work additional hours in the Captivation Salon.

Future opportunities

A job as a Junior Stylist in a salon, there is also an opportunity to progress to Hairdressing Diploma (NVQ) Level 3.
