Childcare Apprenticeship Intermediate Level 2 at Halesowen College

Course description

If you have a love of children and a calm manner, this one year Apprenticeship is ideal. It will help you to make a career caring for children in privately owned nurseries or those attached to primary schools.

You will attend College for 1 day a week to work towards the Level 2 Certificate for the Children's & Young People's Workforce, while working in a Childcare setting for the other 4 days a week. You will also be required to complete a workbook on Employer Rights & Responsibilities and demonstrate Personal Learning & Thinking Skills throughout the Apprenticeship.

Entry requirements

  • 5 GCSEs at Grade A*-C including English and Maths at grade 4 (grade C)

In certain circumstances we will accept variations to this entry guide and create a personalised programme.

Assessment

You will be continuously assessed in the workplace for your developing skills and through assignment work in College.

You need to be in employment - College staff may be able to help you but you will probably need to apply for vacancies on the National Apprenticeship Online Vacancy website.
