ESOL at Trafford College
The ESOL course is designed for students who do not speak English as their first language. The students could be new to the UK or they may well have been in this country for a period of time. All these types of students may need the basics of English underpinning before moving on to another course in college. The ESOL course builds confidence using English as well as building specific skills. We teach reading, writing, speaking and listening and we also cover a range of topics including: * Health * The UK * EmployabilityAs well as English we teach the students maths. The maths levels range from E1 - L2 depending on the ability of the student. We enter the students for one round of exams in January and if the students have made sufficient progress they could be entered for a second level but this depends entirely on the progress the student makes during the year.
Depending on the level of qualifications the students take they can progress to a further ESOL course, a course within Foundation Learning or another qualification in college.
