English Language & Literature AS & A Level at Blatchington Mill School and Sixth Form College

Course description

This combined A-Level allows you the best of both worlds. You can immerse yourself in literary texts and explore the writer’s themes and ideas, as well as the techniques they have used to present them to the reader. You can also explore non-fiction texts and consider how spoken language is used, answering questions such as “What makes a successful conversation?” You will also be able to write creatively.  If you are an avid reader, this is the course for you.

Entry requirements

GCSE English Grade C or above

Future opportunities

A successful A-Level in combined Language and Literature can lead to the study of both subjects at university and, to careers in journalism, creative writing and teaching, among many others.
