Electrotechnical Advanced Apprenticeship at Northampton College

Course description

Build a highly motivated and loyal workforce whilst acquiring a fully-qualified technician. This Apprenticeship aims to provide the skills and knowledge necessary to be competent to the national standard required by studying the Electronics Industry Core Units. They are designed by employers for employers so you can be sure you are getting the skills the industry wants. The candidate will need to cover: - Diploma in Electrotechnical Services Level 3 - Functional Skills Level 2 in Information Technology - Functional Skills Level 2 in Mathematics and English - Personal Learning and Thinking SkillsExamples of units covered: - Ensure safe electrical site working - Diagnose and correct electrical faults - Provide technical and functional information to relevant peopleThe programme is primarily delivered at the candidate's place of work although some attendance will be required at the College. The average duration of this course is 44 months.

Course content

Apprentices gain practical skills and qualifications that your business needs both now and in the future. They deliver a tailored development programme working alongside the in-house training of your business to attain a nationally recognised qualification.

Entry requirements

You must be in relevant employment to start an Apprenticeship and achieve a minimum of 50% in Mathematics and English Level 2 diagnostics.

Assessment

The Diploma is evaluated through a series of practical assessments and a portfolio of work. The Knowledge is assessed through theory based tests or assignments. Functional Skills are assessed through exams where appropriate.
