Course description

Whatever your individual goals, we can help you develop the skills you need to achieve. Whether you want to continue in education, start work or live more independently, our personalised courses can help you build the skills and confidence you need.

Course content

These courses offer an opportunity to help you identify your personal goals, improve your employability skills and develop your Maths and English. Working in small groups and on supported trips you will take part in practical activities to help you achieve your own targets and put the skills you have learnt into practice. Your work will be recorded in workbooks, and you will also take part in enterprise activities and a work or vocational placement.

The learning takes place in small groups, both in the classroom and on supported trips to deepen the learning. You will take part in a range of practical activities to enable you to put the skills you are learning into practice.

Support and opportunities to identify next steps will be a main focus of the course. Throughout the course you will be encouraged and supported to become an independent learner. This course will involve a supported work experience placement

Entry requirements

You will need a certificate in Employability Skills at Entry Level 3 or Level 1.


You will be required to complete activities throughout the year and record your work in workbooks which will make up your learning file.

Future opportunities

With all of our Employability Skills courses your next move depends on you and your own goals. If you want to go on to further studies you can progress through the Employability Skills courses before moving on to a vocational course or you may achieve a greater level of independent living. You could also go on to supported employment or voluntary work.
