Course description

A flexible, accredited learning programme designed to give learners the practical skills, and under-pinning knowledge required in the workplace. The course is work based which means you can earn and learn at the same time whilst developing the skills, understanding and knowledge that many employers in these sectors are looking for. This qualification is made up of a National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) Level 2 Ceritifcate in Hospitality and Catering Priciples ( Front of House Reception) Personal Learning & Thinking Skills ERR, Functional Skills Level 1 English and Maths Level 1 if applicable.

Entry requirements



Each of th eunits is made up from specific elements applicable to a Front of House Reception role for example dealing with payments, dealing with customers and maintaining a safe and hygienic environment.Assessment takes place through evaluation of workplace performance, presenting evidence, witness testimony and questioning etc.A portfolio of evidence is produced which demonstrates that the learner can perform to the level decribed.Participants wil have  dedicated Assessor who will help assemble the portfolio and prepare trhem for assessment.

Financial information

No cost to apprentice learners. Advanced Learner Loans can be applied for.

Future opportunities

With further training, you could continue to develop your career in hospitality by working within a Hotel, Restaurant or Conference Centre. You could also study a Management course to support your training.
